Digital Arts – Créativité & Innovation Tour in Ireland

This project showcases French expertise in digital creativity through outdoor interactive installations and hands-on workshops on video mapping, augmented reality and AI, led by French digital artists Maxime Touroute and Rémy Dupanloup. Presented in close collaboration with Irish cultural partners, this tour takes place in Dublin, Galway, Tuam, and Ballina. The workshops are designed to facilitate access to digital tools and stimulate creative potential and collaboration among students and professionals from various cultural sectors through the sharing of resources, expertise, and diverse artistic experiences.

Ambient Orbit, RTÉ Lyric Fm and the Douglas Hyde

The Douglas Hyde is delighted to collaborate with RTÉ lyric fm’s Ambient Orbit to present a live event in the Museum Building, Trinity College Dublin. Join us for a mix of field recordings, ambient music, live musical performances from Rachael Lavelle & Ryan Hargadon, Seamas Hyland and Méabh McKenna, and bespoke visuals from Tadhg O’Sullivan. Within the beautiful and historic setting of the Museum Building, this event will create space for the audience to immerse into music, environmental sound and imagery. Ambient Orbit is a non-presenter led specialist music programme on RTÉ lyric fm, produced by Áine Gallagher and Peter Curtin. It occupies a unique space in Irish radio with its beautifully crafted mix of ambient sounds and field recordings from the Irish landscape.
Glowscape at PorterShed

The PorterShed is excited to present an immersive light art experience for Culture Night. Artists Will McLoughlin, Eoghan O Kelly, Eoghan Kilgrew and Cadhla Forde will transform the vibrant event space into an otherworldly realm through light, projections, sculptures, and a notable Kinetic Sensor experience. This interactive sensory installation captures and mimics visitors' movements, allowing them to flow and dance through the room, creating a dynamic and engaging environment. Paired with light art and music, this experience promises to transport visitors for a couple of hours into a captivating, ethereal world.
Let's Draw

In collaboration with the French Embassy in Ireland, Galway City Council presents “Let's Draw” by Maxime Touroute and Rémy Dupanloup. Lets Draw is funded by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, and is part of the ongoing development and enhancement of Galway City's thriving Night-Time Economy. Let's Draw will transform Galway's iconic Spanish Arch into an interactive canvas where the public becomes the artist. Taking place from 9PM pm to midnight participants of all ages are invited to use their smartphones as drawing tools. Creations will be projected in real-time onto the Comerford House building, forming a tapestry of light and colour that evolves with each stroke.
Light Bank

County Longford Arts Service and NTE Longford present "Light Bank," a large-scale outdoor digital art event transforming the former Ulster Bank building in Longford. This project blends Longford's commercial past with contemporary digital art, featuring animations and visual narratives projected onto the building’s facade. Hosted by Longford Arms Hotel and developed in collaboration with mentor artist Caroline Conway, artists Nathan Sheridan, Mary Fleming, Raymond Asiemo, and Patrina Prunty have created site-specific artworks celebrating Longford’s culture and community.
OTHERWORLD

Following the success of Culture Night 2023, Outset Gallery and producer Emmet Kerrigan present "OTHERWORLD" for Culture Night 2024. This multidisciplinary arts event will guide audiences through various stages, featuring top music acts from Galway and beyond. "OTHERWORLD" offers an immersive audiovisual experience that reflects Galway's contemporary culture, blending historic charm with future possibilities. Open Night at TOG Hackerspace

Tour the Hackerspace to learn about innovative projects and technologies at TOG. Enjoy demonstrations of their fabrication equipment including 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNCs. Guests can also try their hand at an electronics project or learn lock-picking. TOG encompasses many elements from the maker movement, so this is a fantastic event for creators and tinkerers of all ages! TOG is a hackerspace run and funded by its ongoing members. It offers a modern studio-like space, with access to a large range of equipment and a community of welcoming STEAM enthusiasts.

"The Future Will Be Better Tomorrow" AI Art Competition

We invite artists and AI enthusiasts to participate in our AI Art Competition and Exposition, "The Future Will Be Better Tomorrow." This event highlights AI as a creative tool and explores future perspectives on AI. The competition includes online submissions, selection of the top 30 works for an on-site exposition, and an awards ceremony with cash prizes. Visual artworks in any form—images, videos, sculptures, installations, or live performances—are welcome, especially those addressing AI's future. AI use is encouraged but not mandatory. CVM's Call for New Visual Music Work

This call is made to give attention to the Visual Music work celebrated by Center for Visual Music in relation to image and movement, abstraction and music, not only from historical creators like Oskar Fischinger, but also continuing with contemporary artists. The new film should be original. Length should be 8 minutes or under. We are seeking abstract visual music work (please do not submit documentaries, for instance). Please note, we are unable to showcase the film on social media, Vimeo or YouTube if the music is not cleared.

The UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts Karlsruhe is opening its doors to artists and media professionals from all over the world for the first time! The 2024 project funding program is aimed at creatives who deal with current social and cultural issues and make use of the potential of media art. International exchange, co-operation and interdisciplinarity are the focus of this call for proposals. Funding will go to projects that are designed for outdoor spaces and create a high level of visibility for the public and can amount to up to 40,000 euros per project. The selected projects will be presented in summer 2025 as part of the “Media art is here” exhibition.
Hangar: Exploring the Boundaries of Generative AI in Photography

This call invites artists photographers to reimagine history through image generation. PROMPT: combine the artistry of photography and the technology of image generation to revisit and reimagine historical events, characters or situations and present a body of works blurring the lines between fiction and reality. Laureates will be part of the collective exhibition at Hangar from January 24 to June 14, 2025, have their work published in the exhibition catalogue, receive support for the production costs of the exhibition’s works and a Cash prize of €2000.

The Air We Share

The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media are launching an open call for a hybrid residency from November 2024, culminating in an exhibition during IFFR 2025. This residency invites media artists and filmmakers to explore the crossover between film and media arts, encouraging experimentation and creative growth. A budget of €16,500 is provided to cover fees, including travel and production costs. The residency runs from November 2024 to February 2025, with a mix of remote and on-location work. Applications are open to all, regardless of background or identity.

Animation Innovation and Immersive Development Fund

Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and Animation Ireland are delighted to announce, with the support of Cultural & Creative Industries Skillnet & Eirmersive, that applications are now open for the 2024 Animation Innovation and Immersive Development Fund. Since the fund was initially launched in 2021, Screen Ireland has supported the development of 30 innovative, high-concept projects across areas such as immersive storytelling, VR, augmented reality and app development. Producers and industry creatives can apply for a project investment of up to a maximum of €75,000 in total. Each proposal will be assessed on criteria measuring the quality and level of innovation involved in the project, and its appeal to the market.

Prototyping Lab 2024

Exchange ideas, collaborate with other participants from a global community, share knowledge, and learn from the leading storytellers, creative technologists, XR makers and producers how they create their magic. The PROTOTYPING LAB is the last of three activities of the EUCL 2024 and starts with 3 (live) online master classes (end of October) and will take part 5 days on-site in Munich (Germany) from November 4th to 8th, 2024. Your travel days are November 3rd - 9th, 2024. Please note there is a participation fee of €500 - €650.

The Artists’ Apartments create conditions for affordable living spaces for individual artists and attract and keep artists living and working in Limerick City, by encouraging living and working within the urban context. The apartments provide subsidised living spaces in recognition that artists and many individuals working in the arts are on modest income levels.
