👋 Welcome
Howya! It finally happened! Irelands big TouchDesigner week!
We it kicked off, with thanks to Stephen Mac Devitt and NCAD, with a TouchDesigner Beginner workshop and some eager participants.
We then rolled into the TouchDesigner Dublin Event on Saturday. As we awaited all of you to arrive, our boots were shaking a little. Thankfully your generous and electrifying energy gave us the perfect start to the day and eased our nerves.
A wholehearted thank you is in order for all of you who attended, shared work, and supported this event in any way. A special thank you to Greg and Isabelle from Derivative for travelling over to Europe this summer and having faith in us to help run and support this event along with Pauric Freeman. Thank you to Flux Studios for hosting us, as well as to Carnuff Coffee for supplying coffee at the event. We are so thrilled to have met so many of you face-to-face. The opportunity to connect and share ideas and experiences was such an amazing thing.
This event has shown us the need for a more dedicated TouchDesigner meetup schedule and with the help of the community, we can make that happen! 🤝

Rodrigo Romero-Flores will give an artist talk to coincide with his new immersive installation Collateral Landscapes at the Digital Arts Studios in July. His exhibition will run from Wednesday 2nd July until Thursday 10th July. Open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm.

The photographer using AI to reconstruct stories lost to censorship
Elise Morton
Almagul Menlibayeva, a Kazakh multimedia artist, uses AI to reconstruct and preserve marginalized Central Asian narratives erased by Soviet-era suppression. Her installation Posthuman Matter: The Map of Nomadizing Reimaginings #3 weaves handwoven textiles with AI-generated video to visualize lost cultural landscapes.
Multidisciplinary Arts Policy Statement

A few days ago the Arts Council of Ireland updated a new policy statement for multidisciplinary arts. You can check it out at the link below. We are keen ourselves to see if this will develop digital and new-media arts within Ireland in a postive way or will we remain underrepresented and diluted.

Home Residency
Deadline: Ongoing (next cycle: August–November 2025)
Organiser/s: Digital Arts Studios, Belfast
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Aimed at artists working with immersive or new-media practices, this open residency selection offers studio space and technical support to develop live, 360° or VR-based projects. The next round runs August–November 2025; applicants receive planning resources and access to DAS’s 360° capture setup ahead of submission.
Dwell Here 2026 Residency
Deadline: 22-07-2025
Organiser/s: Irish Museum of Modern Art
Location: Dublin
A multi-format residency open internationally across visual arts, design, architecture, curation, and related disciplines—digital and new-media included. Offers studio and/or accommodation, research assemblies, and thematic site-responsive frameworks across 2026.
X‑Reality Lab Residency
Deadline: 22-07-2025
Organiser/s: Universität Mozarteum
Location: Salzburg, Austria
Artists or collectives working in XR are invited to prototype immersive, multi-user performance installations in the new 165 m² X‑Reality‑Lab. A €40,000 production grant and exclusive access, plus technical mentorship. Final work to be premiered in March 2026.
New Contemporaries Artist Residency Programme

Organiser/s: New Contemporaries, Forma, Hospitalfield
Location: London
The London residency offers a fully funded 12-month studio and curatorial mentoring for live, time-based and media artists, open to early-career practitioners. The Scotland residency is a 2-week supported retreat with bursaries. Digital/new-media practices strongly encouraged.

Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques 2026
Deadline: 25-07-2025
Organiser/s: Chroniques (Institut Français, Région Sud, DRAC PACA)
Location: Marseille
Artists are invited to submit existing digital, interactive, or audiovisual works responding to the 2026 theme: “Résistances: hacktivisme, détournements et tactiques artistiques à l’ère numérique.” Internationally open, the selected works gain exposure through exhibitions and partner residencies in Southern France. Notifications by January 2026.
Artist in Residency Call 2025 – Theme: Pax Kultura
Deadline: 04-07-2025
Organiser/s: Culture Directorate, Malta
Location: Malta
International artists are invited to develop new artwork on the theme Pax Kultura (art, peace, dialogue). Six artists receive €30,000 total funding for travel, accommodation, fee and project budget, plus workshops/outreach during October–December 2025. Digital/new‑media practice is welcome. The call invites participation by artists hailing from across different regions, in particularly artists hailing from countries with a recent history of armed conflict and/or political instability directly impacting their work and freedom of expression.

WORM × Amarte Open Call – Workshop Collective

Supports collectives (3+ members) to design and lead a multi-day workshop series at WORM’s spaces (theatre, gallery, radio). Must be multidisciplinary, participatory, and playful—ideal for digital and interactive artists experimenting with audience engagement and hybrid forms.
